Ron Stewart – Matick Chevrolet

Part of the Matick Chevrolet sales management team, Ron Stewart is the dealership’s Fleet and Commercial Sales Manager. He’s been with Matick for seven years and has been an associate member of the HBA since 2015. “I was very surprised and honored to receive this award,” said Ron. “I had no idea I was even nominated. I am grateful that I can help HBA members to purchase GM vehicles while providing them with a significant discount just for being a member of the Association.”

Ron has first-hand knowledge of how challenging it can be to run a business. He served for years as an international management consultant, helping businesses to be more efficient and profitable. He also has a degree in management from the University of Detroit-Mercy.

“I joined the Matick team after an economic downturn, so I am really aware of the tough times that business-owners can face,” said Ron. “Every HBA member is automatically entitled to an additional $500 retail or $1000 fleet rebate on most GM vehicles, including trucks,” said Ron. “Discounts on more than one vehicle – fleet discounts – vary on how many vehicles are purchased, but we can provide significant savings on fleets, too. Whether members are buying one vehicle or a fleet, and whether they are buying through their business or for personal use, I can help them. If the vehicle is for their business, it is to their advantage to talk with me. Most car and truck sales associates aren’t as knowledgeable in all the aspects of how best to put this type of deal together.” A different division of GM Financial handles fleet and commercial financing, so Ron’s familiarity in working with that division is also an asset to his business customers.

With Ron’s HBA honors, Matick Chevrolet can now chalk up another in a list of the prestigious awards it has won. They have garnered honors as Chevrolet Dealer of the Year for five consecutive years and have been named to the Best of Hour magazine.

Ron has been married to Deborah for 12 years. He is the proud father of an adult daughter, Jennifer, who holds a Ph.D. in Urban Education from Eastern Michigan University and leads the STEM Program for Washtenaw ISD. When Ron is not working, he enjoys listening to music, especially jazz, bike rides and traveling. He is also the Director of Music at Trinity AME Church in Lansing. “Even with all that has occurred, this has been a great year for sales,” said Ron. “My receiving this HBA honor makes it even better.”
